These slow-cooker turkey wings are first braised until tender and then broiled to a crispy finish.

Ingredient:

  • 3 pounds turkey wings
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup Shaoxing wine or dry sherry (plus 2 tablespoons)
  • ⅔ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 6 scallions (plus sliced scallions for serving)
  • 4 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 (2 1/2-inch) piece fresh peeled ginger, sliced 1/4 inch thick)
  • 1 (2-inch) cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise pod
  • ⅛ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • Lime wedges and toasted sesame seeds (for serving)
