- 2 large sweet potatoes or yams (orange flesh), 1 ½ pounds
- 8 tablespoons (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup (150g) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt, omit if using salted butter
