My husband and I love dumplings, and this mild-tasting, homey dish has flavorful ones floating on a tasty turkey and vegetable stew. It really hits the spot on chilly fall and winter days.

Ingredient:

  • 8 medium carrots, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 4 celery ribs, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed
  • 2 cans (10-1/2 ounces each) condensed beef consomme, undiluted
  • 4-2/3 cups water, divided
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cups cubed cooked turkey
  • 2 cups frozen cut green beans
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1/8 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 3/4 cup 2% milk
  • 1 large egg
