These easy apple fritters feature a doughnut-like batter studded with Honeycrisp apples that’s easy to quickly fry to crisp and sweet perfection. Zippy apple cider vinegar added to the glaze cuts a little of the sweetness as it heightens the apple flavor. Serve these fritters hot and sprinkle them with chopped pecans, if desired.

Ingredient:

  • Canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 2 large (8 ounce each) Honeycrisp apples, peeled and chopped into about 1/4-inch pieces (about 2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 1/2 cups (about 6 3/8 ounces) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/3 cups (about 5 1/3 ounces) powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
